Whangarei Mill Dismantle & Removal Project
A mammoth project saw Force Engineering dismantle & containerize the entire Carter Holt Harvey Timber Mill in Whangarei for exportation overseas.
Completely managed by Force, the project scope entailed disassembling, labelling, cleaning & packing 102 40ft containers for shipment to their new destinations abroad.
Over 3000 different parts were indentified and labelled before dismantle so they could be reassembled without a hitch in their new locations. This entailed strategically documenting each part as it was disassembled, and recording it’s movements throughout the entire cleaning, containerizing & exportation process to ensure nothing was misplaced along the way. We developed our very own SOP for the containerization of all parts in preparation for export, this streamlined the process for all involved, and enabled total tracking of all components, from dismantle, to arrival at their new locations.
We worked closely with the Ministry of Primary Industries New Zealand to ensure all containers met the rigorous Biosecurity regulations before export. The project came to an end with the last of the 102 containers leaving for Uruguay, Finland & Australia in January of 2023.
